Pratical Continuation

Two Minute worth of composition.

A great two minutes of audio composed so far. I have the correct mood being set with synthesis and the field recordings have been automated to sound trippy.

The session is very messy still however, I am still editing major changes therefore I will clean the project when necessary.

Countryside

I have created a sense of place being the countryside for one minute.

EQ

I have used EQ mainly to remove unwanted frequencies.

EQ OFF
EQ ON

I wanted to remove any harsh low end for example the microphone recording the wind which is around 20-200 Hz that with playback could be damaging the speakers and also I only want wind to be in the mix if place it there.

Sound Design

I have created scenes that a lister can create an imaginative picture too.

Using the H5 zoom handheld field recorder I captured my own sounds of smoking which with some editing I got to sound really good.

Used gain and EQ to achieve this ‘scene’ of smoking which is meant to represent smoking drugs like marijuana which transitions the piece into a trippy perspective.

Reverb

ORIGINAL
EDITED

I now understand how to create my own reverb using space designer, I understood the theory we learned in lesson. Understanding all the parameters I made a reverb that matched my imagination.

I also used volume automation to create the fading transition.

Chopped Field Recordings

I went though my field recordings and made slices of parts I want to use, in this case I used different birds to add new elements.

Reverb

The reverb creates a halogenic tone to the field recording.

REVERB OFF
REVERB ON

I made this reverb my self adjusting all the parameters to how I could imagine the sound being reverberated in a trippy state. I am really happy with it and I can use my preset in the future therefor I saved it.

Transition

Using alchemy I found a really nice tone that transitions the sense of place from countryside to city.

City

I have been experimenting with the city field recordings using effects and automation to achieve trippy hallucinogenic vibe however I feel like I am losing direction. I want the joinery to have a solid sense of direction.

I will keep experimenting until I am happy with an outcome.
