Activity: History of Audio

The purpose of this activity was to introduce us to the possible scope of this unit.

We passed around old/retro audio technology which gets the brain thinking about the world of audio and the origins of the creation of the sonic world we create today.

These three sound objects caught my eye, a retro microphone, a pocket electronic organ and a VHS tape.

Microphone 1930/1940s
Pocket Electronic Organ (Out of the Box)
Pocket Electronic Organ (The Box)
VHS Tape (Out of the Box)
VHS Tape (The Box)

Audio Paper

Instead of an academic paper, this unit is creating an audio paper which is an audio form of an academic paper.

Project Ideas

The secret is to choose a subject I am interested in. I recently became interested in radio waves through an interaction with someone who does it as a hobby which I documented in this blog linked below.
