Structure an Audio Paper

We revised the importance of thinking now in the early days of the audio paper structure.

Structure Plan

  • How will I begin the audio paper?
  • How will the audio paper develop?
  • How will I end the audio paper?

Structure

Beginning Topics:

  • Set the scene using electronic sounds like synthesis, distortion and feedback.
  • Give the listener an understanding of EFMs as if they were a novice to the subject.

Development Topics:

  • How do human senses interact with EMF exposure?
  • Include electronic feedback and distorted sound effects as well as sounds that represent human senses for example heart beats.

Project

EMF

My audio paper will be an immersive podcast experience about electronic magnetic fields, EMFs. EMF fascinates me as its energy which is vibrations that our invisible to some human senses like sight and hearing.

I would like to develop my understanding:

  • Can our human senses detect EMFs?
  • How does exposure to EFMs affect our daily lives?
  • How much exposure are humans experiencing to EMFs and are the rates of exposure harmful and dangerous?
  • History EMFs

Other Ideas

My other idea is an audio paper that brings light to the question…

In today’s world is this the fastest we as a society are experiencing cultural change?‘.

Terminology I Learned this Week

Paralinguistics

Communication outside of using words.

  • The Volume
  • Speed
  • Intonation of a voice along with gestures and other non-verbal cues.

Prosody

The same sentence can take on different types of meanings. We don’t know from reading it but we know from hearing it.

  • Rythem and stress creates a different feeling and meaning.

Phonemes

Every language has its own set of phonemes.

Nuance

A subtle differance in or shade of meaning, expression, or sound.

Practical Activity

Dynamic Microphone SM58

  • Cardiod Polar Pattern (Called cardiod because upside-down heart refrancing the word cardiac)

We expermented with using SM58 which was really fun. I will use SM58 to record my audio paper.
