What is the future of Sound Design?

Infomation directly from a professional sound editor…

Sound is an afterthought towards film

Composers rarely collabrate with sound designers

Hopefully in the future these two opions will be changed. I belive they will as mordern art culture is changing in todays world faster than ever in postive ways.

Guerrilla Foley

Guerrilla foley means taking part in irregular location recording

an Example would be 007 bulldoser scene which she worked on.

The bulldoser scene was recreated with guerrilla foley. They recorded in a scrap yard smashing cars with bulldozers.

Charlie Chaplin

Charlie Chaplin work and influce was big part of todays lecture. It was intersting to watch how the used sound design with limted tracks and no dialog to create a world of sound for the film.

QnA

As a sound designer do you get to experience on-set recording?

The answer is yes but it’s very depending on the director.

But I realised I wrongly worded my question…I wanted to know as a sound designer do you get allowed access to see films being made?
