She is best known for her sound installations and electro-acoustic compositions.

Cloud
An Installation,
Cloud is a sound installation which works with electromagnetic induction
The Cloud is a site-specific sound installation that takes you into the electronic world through custom-made headphones that allow you to hear the “hidden acoustic world” of the cloud.

How does this work Inspire me?
This is inspiring to me as the hidden acoustic world of EMF is the theme and topic I am uncovering.
The 17-minute audio file is an interesting listen into the ‘cloud’. I want to create the same listening experience of the hidden world of acoustics however from the EMF of the university canteen while interviews of today’s generation uncovering their understanding of EMF. I will create an immersive experience of the two ideas shifting focus between acoustics we can hear and the hidden world of acoustics.
Remote Relations
An Installation,

A parallel acoustic world opens up and questions what is the reality of our listening.
I find this quote very inspiring it gives me the vocabulary to explain my work. Recording EMF have truly made me question the reality of my listening.
YouTube
Where and how do you plan to record?
“for me its like a composition these should be interesting sounds to hear but it shouldn’t be all the same I have to find parts of the work which are more quiet and others more intense”
Recording techniques require critical thinking as explained by Christina Kubisch, which inspire me.
“I know the places which are full of electromagnetic waves its shopping malls, its where the money is, its where sometimes the police is, always big traffic places, station and so on”
The field recording location is important and interesting because there’s a hidden acoustic world EMF create that our apart of our existence from man-made creation.
“but then sometimes you find things you don’t know where they come from, from the earth…I like to include these sounds aswell”
We are not just exposed to electromagnetic fields that our man-made we are exposed to natural ones as well. I would like to discover and record natural EMF in my work.
Practical Expermataion

I downloaded the audio from the interview and sampled the audio into my project to begin experimenting. I find this way of working is great for generating ideas and inspiration.
New Ideas
- Support narrative speech with sound
This idea was inspired by the lesson…
Ways of Hearing Podcast
https://www.radiotopia.fm/showcase/ways-of-hearing
In this podcast spoken word was suported by the sound placing you in the scenario. Sense of place was established.
I want to record EMFs to include a sense of place in the hidden acoustics wolrds of the places Christina Kubrick described where she found the most EMF exposure.
“I know the places which are full of electromagnetic waves its shopping malls, its where the money is, its where sometimes the police is, always big traffic places, station and so on”
Listening Through Different Speakers at University
Positive
I really like the low frequency they create an internal sense of space which creates a sense of a hidden acoustic world.
Negative
For me personally the misilanous sounds are to acoustialy external which takes me to of the internal sense of space.
Positive
The recordings of the waves are excitant the inclusion of nature is inspiring to my work. The breathing and the waves together resemble
Negative
I would have preferred more movement of the use stereo field. Each sound being static in each speaker seems stale I would have used panning as a way to resemble a ‘wave’ farthing the idea.

Part 1
Positive
The use of birds creates sonic space of nature and the inclusion of the elecromagnitc freqiaunces unfortanly creates the realisation that this is the sonic enviormnet of our world cause of humans. This brings light to this topic and speaks awanres which is inspireg as that is the sonic message that motivates me to spread.
Negative
Some sounds were included abruptly at high volumes. I would have changed the levels to create a realsitic envorment and because these sounds were birds created the effect that they are far away, not closely recorded.
Part 2
I personally didn’t like this piece. The bird recordings were great however the electromagnetic frequencies didn’t add much other than noise. The fade in/outs were to fast.
Positive
I wold never have thought of recording the noise of a keyboard and mouse. These clicking and dragging noises are so normal to us now however would have been so alien to previous generation. I would love the incorporate this recording idea into my work. Developing this idea further I would like to create the electromagnetic frequencies of the hidden sonic noise that comes from the use of computers.
Negative
At a first listen, I found difficulty in gasping what I was listening to but because I read the description before listening it clicked that I was listing to mouse a keyboard. With the use of EQ editing I believe the sounds would have been easily distinguishable.
Positive
The beginning I felt like I was progressively going deeper under water. This effect was was created using panning and volume automation which I find very inspiring.
To describe my listening experience, the pulsing oscillating LFO electromagnetic with the siren being a volume traveling in the background created this psychopathic feeling which I have never heard before and found very inspiring especially the use of frequency range and the LFO.
