Researching A Quiet Place Sound Design

I spent the morning using YouTube as a research source to further understand the thinking behind the sound design.

A look into the behind-the-scenes for visual and sound.

Seeing the Foley stage and how they got creative was really inspiring. A direct look into the sounds of the monsters and the character’s footsteps.

They explained how they made the decision to include o remove sound. For example, if the audience can hear a sound so can the monsters. This type of thinking inspired strategy thinking in my work.

A Quiet Place does a really good job showcasing the creative ability of the use of sound design in a film.

Understanding the narrative and sound designer’s intentions was great now I have the knowledge for the final dubbing session to bring real sound levels down.
