This lecture was hosted by two speakers,
Rory Salter & Ecka Mordecai
Rory Salter

Background
Rory is a graduate from sound art however feels he’s a musician at heart rather than a sound artist.
Field Recording
Field recording is a massive part of his practice. I was fascinated by his theories and thought patterns when it comes to the behaviour of field recordings. A theory of his was he no longer likes to manipulate field recordings as a field recording is capturing the world in its present time, later down the line it could be of importance as an archive to keep away from manipulation.
Walking
Walking is a huge part of Rorys practice. I found that the why was interesting to me, why is walking a huge part of Rorys practice? Rory made a habit of walking everywhere instead of taking transport which inevitably he included into a practice as an artist which implemented early habits to his practice. As I am in my early stages as an artist thinking about what I could include into my practice from my everyday habits was interesting to think about.
Feedback
Rory like Andrey Chen likes feedback. Feedback unpredictability is always of interest. Would I like to work with feedback? Currently I am not sure however I am open to it.
Ecka Mordecai

Artist: Ecka Mordecai
The Inventor of the ‘Egg Flute’.
I found this part her lecture very fun. Ecka is a graduated sound art student who knew how to run a lecture and make it fun for us students.
Ecka delivered her lecturer through story telling. It was very intelligently done which I found inspiring as I want to increase my literature ability.
The topic spiritualism came up which I was heavily invested in. The question was raised what’s spiritualism medium? Someone who talks to the dead.
Ecka also worked a job involving perfume which later if life crossed the practice of sound with creating a perfume that relates the senses smell and sound. She was tasked to make a perfume that smells like it sounds… The cross over of senses lead for an interning lecture.
