Transfer Files from Logic to Pro Tools
This morning I have been bouncing out individual stems from logic to transfer into pro tools. Unfortunately, I realised after hours of trying that I was bouncing all tracks at the same time so this attempt failed!
Technical Session w/Rory
After this morning’s failed attempt I later had a session to help with any technical problems. In this session, I got to playback my project using the Octophonic ring and I was very happy with the professionalism of the audio however the specialization element needs thinking through and an execution plan before Monday as I have booked out the octophonic room for a dubbing session.
Rory talked me through the setting to set up a Logic session for the 8.1 mixing.

Experimentation that Worked
This morning I also worked on adding more to my film score.
I used some field recordings from my family home in the countryside which creates the ambience of nature. I intentionally chose these sounds like birds and wind because I wanted to represent the life they dream of having which is told through sound.
The music composition keeps continuity with the texture of the sound and creates a dream feeling to this narrative storytelling of sound design.
I chose to add music composition here to create the feeling that something bad could have happened however didn’t. This sound creates tension letting the audience know the dangers of making a sound.
I used a ‘Geofon Contact Microphone’ at home to record Foley from a unique perspective to emulate the perspective of feeling rather than hearing the sound. This was very successful and I enjoyed this field recording’s use of different mics for creative outcomes.
Failed Expermantaions
I also recorded my own heartbeat however it interferes with the frequencies of footsteps and bass music compositions so I chose to remove the heartbeat sound.
Conclusion
Today was very productive good or bad results but I feel I am in a really good place closing into the final week before the hand-in.
To continue to be in a good position for a high grade I will prepare a session for dubbing over the weekend ready to mix Monday.
